Privacy Policy for KinPod
KinPod is built so that a family's information stays with that family. This policy outlines our practices concerning the collection, use, and disclosure of your information.
Information Collection and Use
KinPod has no accounts and no servers of ours. There is nothing to sign up for, and we cannot see your data.
Your household — its members, tasks, approvals, time windows, and earned-minute balances — is stored on your device and in your own private iCloud (CloudKit) database. When a guardian invites a family member's device to the household, Apple's CloudKit sharing syncs that data between your family's devices. It never passes through infrastructure we operate.
Screen Time and Family Controls
KinPod uses Apple's Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity frameworks so a guardian can shield selected apps on a member's device and unshield them for time the member has earned.
The apps a guardian selects are represented by opaque tokens held by the operating system. KinPod cannot read which apps they are, cannot see how long they are used, and no app-usage information leaves the device. Only aggregate earned-minute balances sync, and only within your family's own private database.
Camera and Photos
A task can optionally ask for a photo as proof it was completed. If you attach one, KinPod downscales it and stores it in your family's private CloudKit record so the guardian can review it. Photos are visible only to devices in your household. KinPod does not upload photos anywhere else and does not access your photo library except for the image you explicitly choose.
Notifications
KinPod sends notifications about tasks, approvals, and time windows. These are generated on your device or delivered through Apple's push service to keep your family's devices in sync.
Analytics and Third-Party Services
We do not use analytics tools, advertising networks, or third-party services that collect user data.
Children
KinPod is designed to be used by families, including children. We do not collect personal information from anyone. The only information about a family member is what a guardian enters — typically a display name — and it stays in the family's own private database.
Data Storage and Security
Local data is stored on your device and, where applicable, in an app group shared between the KinPod app and its Screen Time extensions. Synced data lives in your private iCloud database, protected by your Apple Account. We do not have access to either.
Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
