Terms of Service for KinPod

By using KinPod, you agree to the following terms:

Use of the App

  1. KinPod is provided "as is" without any warranties.
  2. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Apple Account and your devices.
  3. The developer is not responsible for any data loss that may occur while using the app.

Household Roles and Screen Time

  1. KinPod uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) frameworks to shield and unshield apps on a device that has joined your household. Only a guardian who has authorized Screen Time on a device they administer can apply these restrictions.
  2. You represent that you have the authority to manage the devices you enroll — that they belong to you or to a minor in your care.
  3. KinPod is a household tool, not a security or supervision product. It is not a substitute for parental judgment, and it must not be used to monitor or restrict an adult without their knowledge and consent.
  4. Screen Time restrictions depend on features of the operating system. They can be affected by system updates, device settings, or a device being removed from the household, and we do not warrant that a shield will always be in effect.

User Content

  1. You retain ownership of the tasks, photos, and household information you create in KinPod.
  2. That content is stored on your devices and in your own private iCloud database. You are solely responsible for it.
  3. You are responsible for any photo a household member attaches as proof of a completed task, including obtaining any consent that photographing a person may require.

Rewards Have No Cash Value

Minutes, balances, and any other rewards tracked in KinPod are a record kept for your household's own use. They have no monetary value, are not redeemable for anything from us, and are not a financial instrument.

Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  1. Use the app for any illegal purposes.
  2. Use the app to restrict or surveil a person who has not consented, or whose devices you have no authority over.
  3. Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the app's systems.
  4. Interfere with or disrupt the app's functionality.

Intellectual Property

KinPod and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Shaomeng Zhang and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the app at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms of Service or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason.

Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms of Service at any time without notice. By using KinPod, you agree to be bound by the current version of these Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Data Loss

The developer is not responsible for any data loss that may occur while using KinPod, including household data that fails to sync through iCloud. Use the app at your own risk.
