Privacy Policy for TouchEdit
TouchEdit is built so that your writing stays with you. This policy outlines our practices concerning the collection, use, and disclosure of your information.
Information Collection and Use
TouchEdit has no accounts and no servers of ours. There is nothing to sign up for, and we cannot see your documents.
TouchEdit is a Markdown and TextBundle editor for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Your documents are stored in places you own and control:
- iCloud Drive — the app's own iCloud Documents container, which Apple syncs between your devices under your Apple Account.
- On your device — the app's local Documents folder.
- Folders you add — folders you choose from Files or Finder. The system grants TouchEdit access to those folders through security-scoped bookmarks so the app can reopen them later.
- Files opened in place — documents you open from other apps, which stay where they are.
TouchEdit reads only the folders and files you choose. It does not scan any other part of your device or your iCloud Drive.
Photos
You can insert pictures from your photo library into a document. When you do, only the image you select is copied into the document's TextBundle package. TouchEdit does not access the rest of your photo library.
Sharing
You can share a document through the system share sheet. Sharing happens only when you choose to, and what happens to a shared copy is governed by the app or service you share it with.
Analytics and Third-Party Services
We do not use analytics tools, advertising networks, or third-party SDKs that collect user data.
Data Storage and Security
Your documents live on your device, in your own iCloud Drive, or in folders you have chosen. iCloud data is protected by your Apple Account. Nothing leaves your device except through your own iCloud or an action you take, such as sharing a document. We do not have access to any of it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
