Privacy Policy for ZenPod

Last updated: October 13, 2026

ZenPod is a podcast player provided by IdealistSpace Inc. No ZenPod account is required. This policy explains what stays on your device and what is sent when you use online features.

Your library and listening data

Your subscriptions, show order, playback positions, bookmarks, settings, and downloaded episodes are stored on your device. ZenPod shares playback information with its widgets and your paired Apple Watch to provide those features. Your device backups may include app data according to your Apple settings.

We do not operate a server that stores your listening library, and we do not use advertising or behavioral analytics SDKs in ZenPod. We do not sell your personal information or track you across other companies' apps and websites.

Podcast search and playback

Searching for shows sends your search terms to Apple's iTunes podcast directory. Loading feeds, artwork, transcripts, or audio contacts the relevant publishers and hosting services directly. These services receive the information needed for network requests, including your IP address, and may apply their own logging, analytics, or advertising practices. Their privacy policies govern that processing; ZenPod's no-retention practice for Ask does not apply to independent podcast hosts or Apple.

Ask: questions about an episode

When you choose to use Ask, ZenPod sends your question and available episode context—show name, episode title, playback position, show notes, and a nearby transcript excerpt—to our service, which uses Cloudflare Workers AI to generate an answer.

We and our Ask AI provider process this information only to answer the request. Questions, episode context, answers, and associated request logs are not retained after the request is completed. Avoid putting sensitive personal information into a question. You can listen to podcasts without using Ask.

Microphone and speech recognition

Microphone and speech-recognition access are optional and used to dictate questions. ZenPod requests on-device recognition when supported. If on-device recognition is unavailable, Apple's speech service may process the audio under Apple's privacy practices. ZenPod sends the resulting question text, not your microphone recording, to the Ask service. Watch dictation is provided by the watch's system input features.

You can revoke microphone or speech-recognition permissions in system Settings, or type questions instead.

Deletion and your choices

You can remove shows, bookmarks, and downloads in the app. Deleting ZenPod removes its local app data from that device; backups are managed separately through your Apple settings. There is no retained Ask history on our servers to delete.

If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send. We use that correspondence to respond and address your request. Contact us to request deletion of support correspondence, subject to any applicable retention obligations.
